Where I'm at

Hey everyone!
I've got to get this blog business in order - there is actually a lot going on in my life I'd love to share with you. I've shown you hints of our apartment improvements but seriously, there have been some major improvements made to our little rental!

But today I'm just going to point to some work-related achievements. Some of you may have caught on to where I'm working but for those who haven't - look up!

I've been having a great time as in-house designer creating some funky barware, flirty houseware, and packaging all over the place. Everything on the middle shelf I nursed from concept to display, and soon - VERY SOON I will try to do a real portfolio update with all my new packaging and product.

The photo above is from CGTA in Toronto and damn was it a lot of work, of course it would have been much less work if they hadn't cut all the power during tear-down leaving us to dismantle everything without the aid of power tools. Yikes!

Gluten Free!

So dear Pietro has come to the conclusion that gluten is the enemy, and I'm kinda excited! I've been curious about this diet for a while and now I have an opportunity to practice cooking all kind of yummy gluten-free dishes.

The first of which is a sort of almond & oregano grilled brussel sprout dish, and also some coconut chicken. Odd combination? Maybe, but so far I think its going to be amazing.

I'll toss up another picture when its all prepared perhaps.

Making the best of it...

I certainly won't say its easy to make an apartment feel like home, but we're getting closer. 

I'm completely in love with my Pantone swatch pillows (and matching curtains) as well as our salvaged frames. The living room is doing rather well - the kitchen on the other hand has been a real struggle. So we've decided to paint the cabinet doors. The above photo is about halfway through the process but I'm feeling pretty optimistic. And brighter light-bulbs, I mean seriously - we should have taken care of that ages ago.

Invites

Hey! Since I can't really post anything work-related until the new products are released etc. I figured I'd give you a little taste of what else I've been doing. 

Some friends are getting married & I've offered to help them our with their invitations. They're still in a very preliminary stage but here is a sneak peek anyhow.

Packaging

I think the tedious process that is packaging design is nearly at an end for this season, and I will post a long and rambling explanation of how that went someday very soon, but for now here is what I've spent my morning on. This photo used to be red and blue, it is a long and horrible process to substitute colours from a photo, but I have done it.
